Stolen Block

In the Vine Pull Scheme of the 1980s, the 120ha Leasingham Wines vineyard in the Clare Valley hills immediately above the hamlet of Leasingham was removed. Partially replanted in '99, this precious block of terra rossa over deep limestone produces outstanding grapes. In 2007 the vineyard owners decided to retain a significant part of the crop to produce classic Clare Valley varietals Riesling and Shiraz, and now also produce a Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. The aptly named 'Stolen Block' vineyard is the source for much of the fruit, with other premium parcels of cool climate fruit included in the blend.
