FIVE FUN FACTS ABOUT WINE

Wine has been around for centuries. It’s a complex drink that can take years to perfect. There is history and science inside every bottle. So here is five fun facts about wine to kick off the new year. 

1. A bottle contains 750 grams of grapes (0.75 kg). This is about 5.5 bunches of grapes or 520 individual berries. 
2. Wine-flavoured Kit Kats are a thing. You can only get them in Japan (and on Amazon). 'Have a Break. Have a Kit Kat'! 
3. Apparently, some people have a "fear of wine," and it's called oenophobia. It’s a real thing!  
4. A glass Of Prosecco has 80. A Banana has 105 calories. Choose Wisely! 
5. “Toasting” started in ancient Rome when the Romans continued the Greek tradition but started dropping a piece of toasted bread into each wine glass to temper undesirable tastes or excessive acidity.
